May 2, 2025

After over a decade of service in Princeton’s Department of Public Safety, Creegan will begin his new role on May 5.

Kevin Creegan, a longtime employee of the Princeton University Department of Public Safety (DPS), has been named director of Transportation and Parking Services (TPS), reporting to Charlie Tennyson, assistant vice president for Campus Services, University Services.

Creegan joined DPS in 2012 as a campus police officer. He has since held multiple leadership roles, including serving 10 years as a patrol captain, overseeing campus police and security operations. He has also played a vital role in various interdepartmental committees focused on campus-wide policy development, physical campus planning, student life initiatives and event coordination.

“Kevin is deeply committed to the University community, particularly to improving the safety and quality of student life,” said Tennyson. “He brings a strong operations leadership background and a proven ability to motivate and develop teams. I’m confident he’ll be an outstanding addition to University Services as he shifts from law enforcement to transportation operations.”

As director, Creegan will lead a team of transportation professionals who design and manage the TigerTransit shuttle system, as well as ongoing enhancements to commuter, visitor and event parking, and improvements to the Revise Your Ride commuter benefits program. He will also work closely with campus and local agency partners to continue developing Princeton’s pedestrian and bike-friendly infrastructure.

“I am thrilled to be appointed director of Transportation and Parking Services, and excited to take on this leadership role,” said Creegan. “I look forward to working with the talented team of professionals at TPS and continuing to collaborate with campus and local partners to provide exceptional transportation services to our students, faculty, staff and visitors.”

One of Creegan’s key priorities in his first year as director will be overseeing a comprehensive assessment of the University’s fleet assets, operations and related policies to develop a sustainable and centralized fleet management program in partnership with the Office of Facilities, Finance and Treasury and several other departments.

Most recently, Creegan managed the DPS Communication Center for emergency dispatch, where he implemented new performance metrics and quality control measures and led collaborative projects with the Office of Facilities, University Services and other campus partners.

In addition to his public safety roles at Princeton, Creegan dedicated 23 years to law enforcement, working across federal, state and municipal agencies, including 21 years with the Princeton Borough Police Department.

Creegan earned his bachelor’s degree in individualized studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Mercer County Community College, and a Certificate of Achievement in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia. He is also a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, Session 277.
